2012: Promoted to be professor and doctoral supervisor

Dr. Chen has engaged in teaching and research of animal disease prevention and control for more than 20 years, and has carried out the systematic scientific research on molecular epidemiology, immune mechanism and pathogenesis, vaccine development, achievements transformation and application on major animal diseases such as avian flu, swine PRRS and avian tumors, which gained very good results and made outstanding contribution especially to  technological development in agriculture in our country. She undertook more than 30 provincial projects such as 863 program and national transformational fund of agricultural scientific and technological achievement, published more than 100 papers, involved in 28 achievements of new veterinary drugs and 58 pieces of invention patents authorization, set 2 industry standards, and participated in three published books. She continues to help transform scientific achievements into productivity, with revenue of 9.9 billion yuan by achievement transformation from 2003 to 2017, and 990 million yuan of tax payment, which drove the development of upstream and downstream industries, created nearly 1500 jobs and made great contribution to agricultural production and farmers' income, public health, food safety and the development of animal husbandry modernization.

Dr. Chen has received 14 scientific rewards in provincial and national levels such as “Guanghua Youth Award of Engineering Science and Technology”, “Science & Technology Award for Chinese Youth”, “Realistic Achievements Award for Distinguished Young Scholars”, “National Excellent Scientist”, “China Innovation Award for University-Industry-Research Cooperation”, “Advanced Worker in Guangdong Academician Expert Enterprise Workstation”, “Working Model of Guangdong Province”, “Top 10 Outstanding Women in South Canton”, and “Guangdong Woman Pace-setter”.
